When our new home was being built in 2014, we decided not to go with pendant lights over our kitchen island because our ceiling was 12 ft and the island was kept at counter height (3 ft). Since moving in during Jan 2015, we found that the ceiling LED cans over-illuminated the kitchen area (even with a dimmer switch) when wanting focused lighting at the counter. We learned that the makers of our dining room chandelier also made companion pendant lights. We were initially planning on buying cheaper kits, but our electrical fixture supplier, who also acquired the pendant lights and needed extensions (Bayside Electrics, Wilmington NC) recommended and ordered for us The Can Converter and we’re glad they did! It came with all the necessary parts and the decorative plate which would have been an added expense. Being a fairly decent handyman, I took on the project and was easily able to follow the instructions and completed the project in a few hours (3 converter kits installed, 3 lights assembled and installed.) We now enjoy the ambiance we were looking for and the added detail to our new home. Thanks for being there!

All can lights in kitchen were converted to LED. The last two cans were converted using the Can Converter kit to pendant fixtures over the center island. Pictures show one light installed and then second light installed. First conversion took much longer by following directions for first time but second was much quicker after knowing what to do. First time DIY installer.

Did a remodel job and the existing before pendants are toggle bolted through the sheet rock, Very “mickey mouse” and not the way an electrician should do things. So i pulled them all down they happened to be lightolier 4″ recessed. Did some research through my supply house. Acquired these can converters to my surprise a very sturdy hold for the brackets.

We had upgraded our kitchen cabinets and counters. The old plastic can lights had to go! The Can Converter made it possible to upgrade to LED pendant lights for a new, elegant look and significant energy savings.

The Can Converter took a potentially tough and hard project, and made it an easy one. Wife wanted a unique light over our tub, and I wanted a simple way to install it. We both got what we wanted. Thanks Can Converter!

We replaced two pot lights in our kitchen with pendants — what a difference. We purchased them from Amazon.ca, and they were here in less than 3 days! We could find them locally but the ones available locally were only rated to hold 5 pounds. These are rated for 50 pounds!

If you live in Arizona, you understand HOT! I love to sit outside, but I hate the heat…so, I decided to remove an old recessed lighting fixture on my porch and replace it with a ceiling fan. I’m a stay-at-home-mom, not an electrician, so I really didn’t want to replace the wires and housing. I was looking for something quick, easy and cost effective. After buying a competitor’s conversion kit, installing it and realizing it was flimsy and would never hold the weight of a fan, I went online and found Can Converter. After reading the specs and reviews, I decided to give it a try. Glad I did! It will always be hot here….but now I at least have a breeze! Thank you!

I’ve needed a fan in my kitchen for many years now but could never figure out how to hang one due to only have can lights in a 2 story house. I found your product on line and it worked great. I’m a 5 on the handyman scale and it was very easy to install and really changed the look and feel of my kitchen – thanks
