“Replaced the can light over the kitchen sink. It only used a 45w light bulb. Having a pendant light with a 75w bulb makes a huge difference! The added light makes it much safer to chop vegetables, etc. Our son installed it for us. It took him about 1 1/2 hours. He’s not a electrician. Working over the kitchen sink was challenging. He said if he had to install another one, it would go faster.I chose the Can Converter because I wanted the light fixture tight to the ceiling without having to use a white ring! “We recently purchased our new house and there is recessed lighting everywhere, much of it being low voltage 4” cans. My wife really wanted a chandelier above the Jacuzzi tub. She found a great, relatively low cost chandelier and said, “Here, I want this.” Two problems – there was a 4″ recessed light right where she wanted it, and it was 12VAC. My first thought was that I was going to need to rip down part of the ceiling to remove the new construction recessed fixture that was in the ceiling. “We are remodeling the interior of our home. Builders love can lights because they can stick them anywhere and “Let there be light.” But can lights are not decorating, at least by our standards.
