When our new home was being built in 2014, we decided not to go with pendant lights over our kitchen island because our ceiling was 12 ft and the island was kept at counter height (3 ft). Since moving in during Jan 2015, we found that the ceiling LED cans over-illuminated the kitchen area (even with a dimmer switch) when wanting focused lighting at the counter. We learned that the makers of our dining room chandelier also made companion pendant lights. We were initially planning on buying cheaper kits, but our electrical fixture supplier, who also acquired the pendant lights and needed extensions (Bayside Electrics, Wilmington NC) recommended and ordered for us The Can Converter and we’re glad they did! It came with all the necessary parts and the decorative plate which would have been an added expense. Being a fairly decent handyman, I took on the project and was easily able to follow the instructions and completed the project in a few hours (3 converter kits installed, 3 lights assembled and installed.) We now enjoy the ambiance we were looking for and the added detail to our new home. Thanks for being there!
